Dunno what butterfly or moth this is; it's feeding on a type of pincushion flower (scabiosa) called "starflower everlasting," which is great because it has pretty flowers and interesting seed-heads, both of which are good as cut-flowers. You can see both flowers and seed-heads real well in the last photo.
