The common building still has a little ways to go before completion, but Jo decided to try out his and Rosie's new oven yesterday for his weekly bake. It was a great success, as the pictures show. He was able to bake everything at once, a big improvement over the cob oven, where he had to bake in several shifts. Above: loading sundried tomato-basil levains into the oven. Below: an interior look at the oven platform, where you can newly inserted loaves already starting to change color.
Above: the levain coming out after 25 minutes or so.
Below: a perfect loaf of whole wheat multigrain.
